Blog Entry: A New Chapter Begins
After publishing The Road of a Dreamer / El Camino de un Soñador, I received many messages from readers sharing how the book resonated with them. Some told me it inspired them to keep pushing forward with their dreams; others simply enjoyed getting to know my story. A few asked, “What comes next? Will there be another book?”
The answer is yes.
I have started working on my next book. This one will stand on its own, but in many ways, it is also a continuation – a series of reflections and lessons learned after the journey I shared in my first book.
For those who haven’t read The Road of a Dreamer, it is a book about my life – growing up in a small town on the border of Mexico and the U.S., moving between countries, and working my way into leadership roles across different industries. It’s about dreams, sacrifices, family, and the lessons I learned along the way. If you want to understand the full story behind why I write and lead the way I do, I invite you to read it – it’s available on Amazon and through my website.
This new book will focus on the lessons I’ve learned from working in different industries and leading teams through many challenges.
But it won’t be a book full of theories or frameworks taught in schools. My goal is to share real stories from the shop floor to the boardroom – moments that shaped my thinking about safety, quality, productivity, maintenance, teamwork, decision-making, and so much more.
For example, one chapter I just finished writing is about safety. Not the slogans or posters on the walls, but the reality of how overconfidence and assumptions can become the biggest risk factors. Another chapter talks about maintenance – how in many companies, maintenance heroes are celebrated for saving the day, but true leadership is about creating systems so problems don’t keep repeating.
Writing this book has been exciting and challenging at the same time. It makes me revisit moments I’m proud of and moments I wish I had done differently. But above all, it reminds me that every experience has value if we take the time to reflect.
As of today, I have completed five chapters. There are many more stories to tell. My hope is to publish this book within a year of The Road of a Dreamer.
Even though I am not yet set on the final title, I know it will have some reference to the previous book, and the cover design will follow a similar concept so it is visually connected to The Road of a Dreamer – but at the same time, it will be able to stand by itself for new readers who find it first.
If there is a topic or question you want me to explore, let me know. I want this book to speak to the realities people face every day at work – with no filters, no sugarcoating, just honest reflection with a hope to help others grow.
Thank you to everyone who encouraged me to keep writing. Stay tuned. The next chapter is coming soon.
